Welcome to My Personal Page
This walk began 12 years ago in memory of John Cowling who passed away January of 2013 by suicide. After realizing how much stigma revolved around mental health and the lack of resources. It was my desire to reach out and raise as much awareness as possible.
I didn't want people to feel alone and I wanted to give people hope. It was time to make a change.
I asked my best friend Kerry-Ann and John's daughter Brianna if they would be interested in bringing this campaign to Sudbury, and it began. It started with the 3 of us doing our very best to learn the ropes and organize our very first defeat depression run/walk campaign. There were times I thought to myself, are we really helping anybody, but then I realized each year we were making a difference. And here we are twelve years later, stronger than ever.
I would like to extend a Huge thank you to NISA for continuing this campaign over the last 10 years and to the many people who have contributed their time and effort to its growing success!!
A special thank you to my children Brandon, Hannah, Cassidy from another mother and my sister Rhonda who have supported me and this campaign over the past 12 years!!
Please sponsor me and help make a difference. Together, with your support, we can reach our fundraising goal!
